The Vancouver aquarium in Stanley Park is Canada's largest aquarium dedicated to the conservation of aquatic life through display, interpretation, education, research, and direct action.The Aquarium is home to over 70,000 amazing animals. More than 35,000,000 people have visited the Aquarium since 1956; 80,000 school children annually learn about aquatic life through its school programs. The aquarium conducts the world's longest continuous study of killer whales and its Marine Mammal Rescue program has rescued and released over 1,600 animals.

Nicholas Simmons began painting in Sarasota, Florida and studied with many well-known watercolor painters, most notably Valfred Thelin and Barbara Nechis. He quickly developed a bold original style and enjoyed much early success. Nicholas has earned a reputation as one of the most exciting contemporary watermedia artists on the scene. His work is revered by fellow artists worldwide and is held in private and public collections throughout the United States and abroad. Nick is also sought after as a workshop artist and is known for his fresh, unorthodox and often irreverent approach.

Advanced and intermediate painters
(fee $450 CDN). Nick will be supplying students' with acrylic paint courtesy of DaVinci Paints.
